Ham cooking easy recipe - gas stove

Yes — my dog. That sentence still amuses me too.
Before anyone gets concerned: he’s not a large breed, so I’m not feeding a small horse. He eats twice a day, no snacks, no treats in between. There are no negotiations.
Same arrangement applies to me.
No snacking, no grazing, no mysterious “just one thing” visits to the kitchen. I’ve tried that approach before. It didn’t end well.
I could, of course, buy dog food. Read labels. Compare brands. Nod thoughtfully while understanding very little. Or I can cook once, keep it simple, and know exactly what’s in the pot.
I don’t enjoy standing at the stove, and I have no interest in cooking every day. What works are foods that mind their own business and last for a few days.
Ham is one of those.
From the local Lidl — not as an endorsement, just because it’s nearby, still takes cash, feels more human, and doesn’t behave like a bank trying to control how I live on behalf of the government while I’m only there to buy dinner.
One pot. Water. Gentle heat. No seasoning while cooking. Once it’s done, it covers several meals — for me, and in sensible portions, for him.
It’s practical. It’s economical.
And so far, there have been no complaints 🐾
